Beautiful Ride

Hello friends!  Just a quick post today to share with you (I'm typing during a commercial break on Jeopardy! so I've got to be quick - it's serious business in our house!)

Today's card is using the Beautiful Ride stamp set from the Occasions 2016 catalog - I adore that little VW Beetle and the fantastic touches you can add to it!  I'm all about dogs and birthdays, so I filled it with both and matted it on some fabulous DSP.

I love how well watercolouring works with this stamp set - all of the images just work pair perfectly with it!  So fun.

Hope you're having a great week - we'll see you soon!

Cheers,
Shannon

I Thank My Lucky Stars...

Good morning, friends!  I hope you had a great weekend!  Mine was busy but productive - some time working on refinishing a piece of furniture, and lots of crafting!

I have to admit that I've been feeling a little pinked-out lately; there's a lot of pink, a lot of girly, and a lot of pastels in the Occasions Catalog, and I've been using them like crazy!  Looking at my pile of recent creations, it was all very girly... I needed to mix something up and make a card for the guys.

The beautiful Perfectly Artistic DSP is so awesome for masculine or feminine cards; on one side, this amazing marbled look, and on the other, a watercolour wash!  So pretty.  The reverse side of this paper will be shown in my next post for the Artisan Blog Hop - you'll want to make sure you check it out on February 3rd!  But the best part of this paper?  It's FREE!  Wahoo!  This is one of the items featured in the Sale-A-Bration 2016 catalog, meaning it's absolutely free with a $60 CAD purchase.  So awesome, right??  It's also only available through February 15, so you'll want to hustle over and get some ASAP.

This paper pairs so beautifully with my favourite stamp set from Occasions 2016; Going Global.  I love this sweet little sentiment.  A few quick star die cuts with my big shot and this card was almost done!  So easy; perfect for your favourite dude.

I hope your Monday is feeling un-Monday-like and you're off to a great start this week!  See you again soon!

Cheers,
Shannon

TGIFC39: Feelin' the Love!

Hello friends!  I'm back for one final TGIF Challenges blog post as a member of the design team.  As you may have seen two weeks ago, I've resigned from the TGIF Design Team as of the end of this month, so this will be my last one!

This week, we have a theme challenge... because V-Day is right around the corner!

Theme challenges are a lot of fun because everyone's project ends up being so different; I love seeing the variety in both the design team and the challenger entries!

Sheltering Tree was calling my name this week; a simple watercolour wash on the background, a pink and red tree, and a few easy embellishments made this simple card a little bit of lovely.

The little wooden heart from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit is my favourite touch!

Join us this week at TGIF Challenges - I'd love to see what you come up with!

Cheers,
Shannon

Apple of My Eye (x3)

Hello and happy Saturday!

I've got a fun little collection of three cards to share with you today - one of my unexpected favourites out of the new Occasions Catalog is called "Apple Of My Eye."  This set isn't something I would typically gravitate toward, but I picked it up recently and just made card after card!

Each of these cards is similar, but with a different fruit and sentiment from the set.  You may notice a little shimmer in the background of each - just a flick of our Wink of Stella brushes will give you beautiful shine (and it dries quickly and doesn't smear!)

The apple card was my first - I love how sponging just a little bit of a background stamp creates a very different look - so soft and pretty.

The cherries paired nicely with Timeless Textures and a piece of the black twine, separated from the new combo pack.

And lastly, the lemon, given a bit of a rustic treatment with some burlap and gold shimmer.  Doesn't it remind you of fresh lemonade on the porch of a farmhouse?  Love!

Have yourselves a fabulous weekend!

Cheers,
Shannon
