Top 5 of Stampin' Up! - Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Long time, no see!  I've had a crazy-busy week, but I'll never be too busy to join my friends at Fancy Friday for a blog hop!

Our theme this month is "Top 5" - with the release of the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue at the beginning of this month, we've all had a chance to play with our new supplies and find our favourites - so today is all about sharing them with you!

My top five new products are below, but first, I want to share the project I made to showcase some of them.

Eeek!  While I'm finding I'm past the age where my friends are getting engaged (sadly, it seems I'm in the time of life where a lot of friends are divorcing, instead!) I still couldn't resist turning this fun, bold sentiment into a bright and graphic engagement card.  I was able to sneak four of my top-five products onto this card, which might be why I like it so much!

Let's have a closer look at what's come together to create this card...

  1.  Eclectic Layers Thinlits.  I adore this set - really, truly, and deeply ADORE it - but I have to confess something.  If this set consisted of ONE Thinlit - that diamond - I would have bought it anyway.  It coordinates with the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, and it cuts shapes, outlines, AND embosses.  It's a whole lot of fabulous... but that diamond is what does me in!
  2. Great Big Greetings stamp set.  Could this bold, graphic set be any more fun?!  I don't think so!  I love the quirky sentiments, the modern fonts, and the sheer size of these sentiments - they create a major impact on the fronts of your handmade cards!
  3. Embossing Paste.  My love for Embossing Paste knows no bounds... I've declared my undying affection already, and I'm sure I'll be doing it again.  I know you've seen a lot of it on my blog already, so I didn't feel too terrible about leaving it off of this card!
  4. Memories & More "Perfect Days"Card Pack.  I am a die-hard pocket scrapbooker, and Memories & More makes my life so easy.  But the "more" comes with projects like this - the coordinating, pre-cut cards and accompanying embellishments will work no matter where you put them.  And for just $12.50 CAD, you can put them anywhere and everywhere!
  5. Lemon Lime Twist.  The ink, the cardstock, the marker... ribbon, embellishments... I can't get enough of this colour!  I am blown away by its versatility.  It goes with EVERYTHING, and it's so much fun to use!

Let's continue the Fancy Friday Blog Hop with a visit to the lovely and incredibly talented Krista Frattin.

Shine Bright - You're Priceless

Hello friends, and happy Saturday!  I hope you're having a fabulous day - what's going on in your next of the woods?

Just popping in quickly today - and late, again! - as I've got a huge stack of work that I'm still picking my way through.  Today's card is a recent favourite.  If you're familiar with my blog, you've probably noticed that blues and greens and blue-ish greens and green-ish blues are my favourite colours.  I tend to gravitate toward them, and I end up with a LOT of projects in this colour scheme.  This one is no exception!  Obviously, the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper was a must-have for me.  Is it on your shopping list, or did you skip it over in the Stampin' Up! catalogue?  Let's look again...

Todays' colour combo is kind of fabulous, and not one I would've thought of.  It was put together in this fantastic paper series, which is eye-poppingly gorgeous.  The watercolour polka-dot print is from the Naturally Eclectic DSP, but so is that amazing watercolour wash background.  How cool is that - watercolour-printed paper!  Saves the work and looks just as beautiful as the real thing.

Bright Lemon Lime Twist pairs perfectly with rich Emerald Envy and delicate Soft Sky; I'm telling you, for lime green, it is incredibly neutral and really does go with everything!  A few simple embellishments - a die-cut gem, some ribbon, vellum, and a sprinkle of sequins - and this card comes together in a flash.

All of these supplies are available on my Online Stampin' Up! store - click here to shop online 24/7 and get your hands on these fabulous goodies!  Don't forget the June Ordering Bonus - enter host code VKJU2FK6 at checkout to receive a yard of brand-new Stampin' Up! ribbon FREE with every $30 spent in my online store (before shipping and tax.)

My to-do list is calling and I must go to it... sigh!  One of those weekends, I guess!

Cheers,
Shannon

Hello Fun - Memories & More Perfect Days

Hello friends!  Is it just me or is this week draaaaagging?  It's finally Thursday and we're almost there - the weekend is just around the corner!

Hello Fun seems like a fitting sentiment, isn't it?  I have no plans - but our 10th wedding anniversary is tomorrow and I'm sure we'll do something fun this weekend to celebrate!

This card was made with a leftover background sheet from the final technique I shared in the Gloss With Gusto post - I played with a few colours, and this was Lemon Lime Twist - one of my favourites!  Each technique creates two background sheets, so I have a few of these stashed away in several colours!  I added a medallion with embossing paste to add interest to the background - I just love that stuff!

The banners and sentiment on this card are from the brand new and super awesome Memories & More "Perfect Days" collection.  Memories & More is Stampin' Up!'s new pocket scrapbooking system "and then some."  The collections coordinate with other SU! products to create scrapbook pages, cards, home decor, and more!  I am absolutely in love with Memories & More - especially the pricepoint - $12.50 for a collection, including 72 cards, acetate overlays, stickers, and more! WOW!

Lastly on this card is Melon Mambo baker's twine.  It's not in the catalogue, and that just wouldn't do!  I grabbed my trusty Whisper White baker's twine, my Melon Mambo ink pad, and a Stampin' Dauber and got to work - the white twine will take on any colour you'd like, so a few minutes later, I had the perfect embellishment.

All of these supplies are available in my Online Stampin' Up! store - please use the links below to shop 24/7.  I appreciate your support of my business - it keeps this blog running!

Don't forget about the June Ordering Bonus - check out using host code VKJU2FK6 and receive a FREE yard of brand new Stampin' Up! ribbon for every $30 spent (before shipping and taxes.)  Yay!

Thanks for visiting - have a fabulous day!

Cheers,
Shannon

Awesome Narwhal - Quirky Critters

Hello my lovelies!  Today's post comes after a long weekend with tons of work to do - and yes, I know it's Tuesday evening - I'm STILL working on it!  I've got lots of great cards on deck to share, and today's is super fun.

Quirky Critters is one of the fabulous new stamp sets in the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue - if you missed it, let's have a peek!

These goofy little animals are just the CUTEST!  I had to go with the narwhal first - my husband won't let me forget that I though narwhals were fictitious until a couple of years ago.  I mean, can you blame me?!  They're like dolphin-unicorns!  That is CRAZY if you didn't know they actually existed! And then the story got funnier when I said told my mom that I didn't know narwhals were real - and she replied "What do you mean they're real?  They are not!"  Apparently I came by this gap in knowledge honestly!  Hahaha!

My sweet, mystical unicorn of the sea needed to be paired with a magical little rainbow and a little bit of sparkle - it comes with the horn, right?  They definitely go hand-in-hand.

This little guy was stamped onto Shimmery White Cardstock and coloured oh-so-lightly with Smoky Slate for a shiny grey finish.  Enamel dots make for a subtle little rainbow touch in the background, perfect over the Embossing Paste clouds!

And those waves?  Turn that scallop upside down - huzzah!  A little trick for you!

Thanks so much for popping in today - and make sure to hop over to my Online Canadian Stampin' Up! store to shop 24/7 for these fabulous products - they're some of my favourites!

June ordering bonus: Receive a yard of brand-new Stampin' Up! ribbon FREE with every $30 in retail products purchased using host code VKJU2FK6 - don't miss out!

Have a fabulous day!

Cheers,
Shannon
